It's that time of the year again! It's the end of the year and you are ready to make your commitment to getting in your best shape. It sounds a lot like last years commitment right? Is it me? Or does it seem like you just can't win this battle with finding balance? Like most people, you work, go to school, have kids, and you are trying to make the best of the little time you have. You know that your health is important. In fact, you think about it every day. Your clothes don't fit the way they once did. It even hurts to sit. Not to mention, age is starting to show on your body and in your habits. Is there a way out? Finding a balance just seems like a losing battle on most days. You don't want to believe this but it sure does feel like it. What can you do? Is there a real solution? YES! THERE IS A REAL SOLUTION!!
Over the past 15 years, I have learned that life changes our priorities more than we care to admit. We are stubborn about changing. We don't want to grow up. At least, not this way. After your college years, your new job, marriage, a new family, and a consuming routine you have become a different person than you once were. With that said, fitness becomes a very low priority. There simply isn't any time for exercise .... and many other things. You are no longer the person you were. You were once a fun and outgoing person without responsibilities. Don't you miss that freedom? Unfortunately, you will never be that person again. Believe it or not, that's a really good thing. Let's talk about a game plan. That game plan starts with acceptance.
First, you need to accept that your life isn't where you want it to be right now. Accept that everything in your life is changing right now. Accept that your life is hard. Accept that it hurts. Accept that it may not change for a while. You may gain weight, lose muscle tone, and lose confidence in your image. This is normal in stages of extreme transition. Your foundation needs to be reconfigured around your current situation. The more you deny what's happening, the longer it takes to make the transition. Have you accepted that your situation is happening right now? Good!!! That's the first step.
The second step is to accept that you made your life this way for a reason. You wanted to do more. You wanted find your potential. You wanted to challenge yourself. You are learning a lot about self at this poing in your life. That takes a while. This process is important and it has to happen. In short, life is going to suck for a while. This means that your old workout plan isn't going to work for your new lifestyle anymore. This means that you need to venture into uncharted waters. You have to be okay being vulnerable and not having control in every situation. However, that doesn't mean you can't do anything about your current situation.
The third step is discovering what you can and cannot change. There are many events happening in your life right now. ALL OF THEM are important. Some of these events are in your control and some of them are out of your control. Focus on the things you can control. What do you want to change? Make a plan of action once you find the areas of your life you want to change. Do you want to change your results with your fitness routine? Do you want to get a promotion? Do you want to spend more time with your family? Decide how that is going to happen for you and make a real plan and accept the sacrifice that comes with it. So, what have you decided?
Here's the deal. This is happening to millions of people around the world. You are not alone. You are overworked and life is beating you down right now. Sadly, health and wellness professionals don't seem to make it any easier. They only remind you that you are not doing what you are supposed to do. They remind you that your priorities are out of order. Ultimately, they remind you that you lost your focus. To get out of this nightmare you need a support group. You need to find people who are going through what you are going through. You need to find people who have made it out of what you are going through. YOU NEED TO TALK ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE GOING THROUGH REGULARLY. Things will change once you start getting your thoughts out of your mind. Release the pressure from all of your stressors by venting them. You will find that different people have different solutions. You will find a way to make it through your struggles with fitness, career, personal, and other areas of your life. You won't stress yourself because you will see other people are struggling just like you. You will find courage in their strength. What have you decided to do? After reading this, I hope you have decided you are in control of the way you feel and what you do tomorrow. Be the best version of yourself. That's all you can do. And if that's all you have, it is plenty.
So tell me. What have you decided to do? Please leave your comments below.

I've been training with Linton- at SBS-for close to 8 years! I come back every year, week after week, because his training philosophy works. No gimmicks, no special tricks---just hard work! I juggle a demanding profession with three kids. I am able to work out with SBS at times that fit my busy schedule. The workouts are custom-tailored for me ---areas I want to improve upon and strengthen so I can do activities I love! You are the best!!!

Suzzette says (Sep 10, 2017):
I met Linton 4 yrs ago. When I first came to him I worked out with him one on one for 2 years. I got stronger everyday and after 2 years I had to quit do to personal circumstances. Then a couple of months ago I was able to clear my schedule to work out with him 3 times a week. I had a new mental energy and I wanted to make sure my purpose for changing my lifestyle was not going to be interrupted by work or personal issues. My life is sedentary and my goal is to become a runner. I have no idea how to do it but with Linton we have developed a plan whereby everyday I work with him I can see my path into becoming a runner. He has what I call a wholistic approach to training. He is not going to say "drop down and give me fifty" out of the blue. He is going to make sure you are not going to hurt yourself on your way to fifty. He makes sure you are strong as a human being so that when you finally drop down and do fifty you can sincerely say why you are doing it, and you could do it again the next day without having to stop to recover do to injuries. Linton cares about people, their goals, and their intentions to work out. He can clarify athlete's goals so that exercise gains a newfound meaning and longtime goals are finally accomplished. This type of accomplishments is something I have experienced by learning with him the essence of what makes my body become all it can become. He reads my body and creates a composition that no-one else saw before, not even me. I am very grateful to him and his way of training. If you are looking for a sustainable way of life, to be fit, in shape, and agile I would recommend to consider Linton's way. It is truly "Superior."

I started my journey with Superior Body Scuplting in January of 2015. Little did I realize how big an effect Linton would have on my life. I started by going to fitness classes and personal training sessions. In those personal training sessions not only were we focusing on fitness growth, but also mental and spiritual growth. This is something that SBS has taught me that the body is very much in tuned with someone's mental state. You can not focus on one without it affecting the other. SBS has pushed me with not only my physical fitness level, but with my music and personal growth. I'm 24 years old now and SBS has and is still nurturing my personal growth through the trainers, but also its members. I've never been the type to enjoy working out and still don't to this day. But I enjoy people and interaction. That is something unique about SBS. Thank you for your encouraging words and that constant reminder that everyday we have to choose what our goals will be and how we wil attain them.

I took the first step of acknowledging I needed help with my disorganized life and bad habits like smoking, no exercise, not getting enough sleep and drinking energizing drinks 6 years ago. The experience with Superior Body Sculpting truly changed my life. I have learned so much about myself and slowly discovered the person I wanted to be. I've learned to set goals and respect deadlines. I've learned to respect my body and stop damaging it- I quit smoking 5 and a half years ago with Linton's help who took genuine interest in helping me become a better version of myself. Under his guidance I've learned that it's not enough just to exercise, you have to train your mind and spirit, too. I now exercise regularly, eat clean and I am aware that having a quality life means permanent work of improvement, not giving up when things get tough, but get back up and do your best one day at a time. Thank you Superior Body Sculpting for your commitment and guidance and most of all for the inspiration!
Ali Kaplon says (Sep 15, 2017):
I have been training with Linton for 7 years a few days a week, and attend the beast mode class regularly. I am a chef so I'm constantly on my feet standing in various positions. This has created balance mentally and physically. I have less body pain and stress. I am able to concentrate. I have less anxiety. I am working on goals and held accountable. I recommend Superior Body Sculpting.
Charisa says (Sep 27, 2017):
I am a proud member of SBS for the last 2.5 years and it has been an amazing ride thus far. I love to work out, I love to feel good, I love to look good, I love to travel, but I also love to eat. Truth is sometimes balancing those can be very difficult when I have a very fluid lifestyle. Like most people my life is very dynamic and requires me to be in multiple places, in multiple time zones in a short periods of time. I love and enjoy being a part of the SBS family as it allows me the opportunity and the room and the space to be on and off and on and off and on again without being judged. Challenges dont mean impossible, So I always welcome the challenge. Having one of the world's best fitness trainers in Linton McClain has afforded me a great, safe place to produce the best version of myself even when I don't think I can. "YOU NEED TO TALK ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE GOING THROUGH REGULARLY"..... is sometimes easier said than done, but even I must do better in this regard to be my best. As long as you get up and GO, you are well on your way. I encourage you to accept the challenge and join the SBS family. It's a no regrets zone!!!!
